Alaffia Founder Speaks to Students at UC Davis

On February 15, 2007, Olowo-n’djo Tchala visited UC Davis where he spoke to the students in Prof. David Kyle’s economic sociology class, a course that Olowo-n’djo himself took three years ago. The topic was a discussion of fair trade principles and how a fair trade organization operates. The presentation was focused on Olowo-n’djo sharing his experience with these students on the functionality of a fair trade organization in the real world.

Presentation by:Olowo-n’djo Tchala, founder of Alaffia skin care products.

Tchala, an Olympia entrepreneur who grew up in poverty in Togo, discusses indigenous African natural resources that are culturally, spiritually, economically and ecologically sustainable. Hand-crafted shea butter produced by his cooperative allows members to support their families.
