Recycling Our Bottles

We strongly encourage you to recycle and reuse our bottles and jars. Not only is this ecologically responsible, but over-consumption and waste are direct causes of poverty in other nations. Resources are scarce and becoming scarcer. The more resources that are used in western countries, the less there is for people in poorer areas.
The United States is a powerful position, and changes, even small ones, can have a large impact. The United States makes up only 5% of the world’s population, but consumes 25% of the available resources. The point is that anything that can be reused or recycled should be. We use glass jars for our creams and butters, which can be recycled virtually anywhere. The plastic bottles we use can be recycled in most locations.

We are becoming increasingly concerned with the amount of plastic in our environment and the impact this plastic has on other living creatures and ecosystems. We have gathered a few links where you can get more information about this: www.greenpeace.com has an article called Plastics: An Environmental Menace, www.mindfully.org has several articles, including The Sixth Basic Food Group, Get Plastic Out of Your Diet, and Against the Current - The Plastic Sea.
